The client brief was for a modern design, using a bold funky colour and definitely the “WOW” factor. The old kitchen was an antique white colour and in the client’s opinion very boring. The kitchen space was to be the focal point in the living area and to allow for entertaining whilst also servicing the two occupants living there. With this in mind, Impala designed a bold capsicum red kitchen with high gloss polyurethane doors and a striking contrasting black stone bench top. The splashback is a metallic-painted glass, which complements the stainless steel appliances.
The kitchen design incorporates practical corner drawers, making access to the space easy and ergonomic. A fully integrated fridge and freezer are hidden behind the tall red doors. The other tall red door is the pantry which also has an appliance station inside for a toaster and kettle.
For a high gloss kitchen in such a striking colour, lighting is very important for both functionality and to highlight the bling ! To this end, downlights were placed underneath the wall cabinets and in the coffered ceiling above.
A bold, dramatic kitchen with funk and panache was designed and installed which suits the owners and the apartment perfectly.
