An original federation home in Sydney’s Bondi Beach had a top to toe renovation including the addition of a second storey that brought light and bright beachside living to this heritage home.
The client wanted:
The ensuite features a luxurious walk-in double shower with a full-length niche tiled in a natural stone mosaic which provides storage and a design detail to the room.
The primary suite has a walk-in robe with feature storage for accessories including shoes and a window seat for extra storage. Warm white was chosen for all the joinery and wall panelling to keep the space light and airy.
The powder room has a small footprint but the use of a floating vanity and inwall cistern maximised the space.
The main bathroom had limited floorspace, so the freestanding stone bath was chosen for it’s neat dimensions and a cavity cistern maximises the space and is easy to clean for a busy family bathroom.
Thassos mosaic tiles create interest in all bathrooms and flow throughout the home keeping the colour palette consistent. Marble herringbone tiles add a luxury look and make all bathrooms appear larger and continue the luxury scheme throughout.
A narrow Shaker style door was selected for all vanities to create a style that is a modern interpretation of a federation bathroom to suit contemporary family living and tie into the kitchen joinery.
Traditional taps were chosen in a specialty aged brass finish which pick up the gold flecks in the stone benchtops. Detailed vessel basins work with the heritage nature of the home with wainscoted wall panelling completing the heritage look.
Rich and warm interior finishes meet with a family designed layout and practical surfaces to ensure beach side living is fuss free in this light and bright home.
