HIA Finalists!

We were extremely proud to be selected as finalists in the HIA Awards for both kitchens and bathrooms.

The successful kitchen and bathroom selected were in fact from the same home located in the leafy suburb of Castle Hill, Sydney.

This was a 1980’s tri-level contemporary house with 1990’s features. The busy family of five were ready for an overhaul and an update of their home, with a major reconfiguration of the kitchen and ensuite in the master bedroom.

The kitchen has uniqueness to it. The brief was semi-industrial, yet earthy look. And this is achieved wonderfully with some key features. The large stainless-steel work area and sink is a perfect fit with the semi-industrial feel. With the lovely warm timber tones added to bring the warmth to this family kitchen. Wood was used around the island bench which is repeated with wood paneling on the walls at either end of the kitchen. To finish off the industrial look two barn doors were added, one leading into the user-friendly butler’s pantry and the other a hallway.

The unique feature for the ensuite has to be the double island vanity which gives a lovely divide to the room. The double shower with two separate panels of glass and long niche not only looks good but is practical as well. This ensuite also has the touches of luxury with underfloor heating, heated towel racks and frosted glass cavity sliders for privacy. Lighting needs were also well considered with overhead LED strip lights in the island vanity for doing all those important tasks and under the vanity light strip to create ambient light.

We at Impala are super proud to be selected as HIA Finalists.
